Over the course of three years, DUBAL worked with GE to implement a complete overhaul of its power management and generation operations.

In 2007, DUBAL met its enhanced energy management and data collection needs with GE’s XA/21 V10.1. SCADA system, which includes a fully redundant main plant monitoring system as well as separate systems dedicated solely to programmer development and operator training.

An effective industrial power management system provides numerous benefits and a wealth of useful data. The system monitors, controls and optimizes the generation, purchase, sale and consumption of electrical energy. To meet those needs, DUBAL applied GE's Industrial Power Management platform with basic SCADA functionality.

The platform also includes a full complement of applications for analyzing and optimizing the operation of DUBAL's electric power assets and desalination operations. The system monitors and controls generation, transformers and switchgear; secures, classifies and prioritizes alarms and events; and collects and stores data for post-analysis and decision support.
